Low maintenance
Steel with the colour baked on at the factory, built to sit in salt air for decades without you touching it.
Every run is string-lined, so the top rail stays straight end to end.
Supplied and installed, for a standard 1800mm fence on level ground. Taller fences, slopes and taking the old fence away are priced in your quote.

Work out your fenceDarker colours soak up heat and lighter ones bounce it back. Worth knowing if the fence runs past a garden bed.
1800mm is the standard boundary fence. We go to 2000mm, which is as tall as a fence gets before a building certifier has to be involved.
Single or double, up to 1720mm wide per gate leaf. Built in the same colour and profile as the fence, so it looks like part of the fence, not an add-on.
Natural look
Fewer people choose timber than Colorbond, but the ones who do rarely want anything else.

Work out your fenceThe standard timber fence, and the cheaper of the two. Easy to repair a section of, easy to extend later, and it takes paint or stain well if you want a colour.
Ironbark or spotted gum. Dense enough to shrug off rot, termites and warping in a way pine can’t, and it silvers off to a grey you either love or paint over.

Who builds it
Valdir Rodrigues, Val these days, Junior to customers who go back a while, is a licensed builder and a member of Master Builders Queensland, with 25 years in construction. He started VR Design and Build in 2018 and brought the business, and the family, to the Sunshine Coast in 2023.
When you ring, Ebony answers. She’s Val’s wife, and she runs the phone and the bookings.
Val quotes your job, and Val builds it. If anything needs fixing afterwards, you call the same number and get the same people.

Questions
Colorbond starts at $140 per metre and timber at $120, supplied and installed. What you actually pay depends on length, height, and what the site is like — the calculator will give you a range in under a minute, and the written quote gives you the real number.
Work out your fenceColorbond suits most Coast homes. It handles salt air without upkeep, lasts 25 to 30 years and starts at $140 per metre. Timber starts at $120, looks natural and is easy to repair or extend, but needs oil or stain every few years. Treated pine lasts 15 to 25 years, hardwood 25 to 40 plus.
30 days from the date on it. As long as the job stays the same, the price in writing is the price you pay.
Not for a fence up to two metres. Above that you need a building certifier involved, and the council gets referred in as well. A retaining wall underneath counts toward the height, so a one-metre wall with a 1.8m fence on top is treated as a 2.8m structure.
For a dividing fence on a shared boundary, Queensland’s Neighbourhood Disputes (Dividing Fences and Trees) Act 2011 splits the cost 50/50 for a ‘sufficient’ fence, which is anything between 0.5m and 1.8m. If you want taller or fancier than that, the extra is generally yours. To ask your neighbour to share the cost, you give them a notice to contribute with at least one written quote attached, and they have a month to agree. We can itemise the quote per side so the conversation next door is an easy one.
Yes, and it’s quoted separately from the new fence because it depends entirely on how much there is and what it’s made of. It starts at $350 for about ten metres and goes up with the length. Asbestos sheeting on older properties is a licensed job and costs more again — we’ll tell you before we start, not after.
Colorbond runs 25 to 30 years and often longer, with a BlueScope warranty of up to ten years against corrosion perforation. Treated pine is 15 to 25, hardwood 25 to 40 plus. Our own workmanship is warranted for two years.
No, we only build new fences. For a loose paling or a leaning post, a local handyman is usually the cheaper call. If the whole fence is past saving, that’s where we come in.
Yes. We can quote in the format insurers expect and work directly with your claim. Storm work is usually the fastest thing we do, because nobody wants an open boundary.
Most residential boundaries are done in a day or two once we start. Removal of an old fence adds time, and a non-stock Colorbond colour needs ordering in, which we’ll flag at quote stage.
